We started out with the front of the White House. We had a great photo op and time to just soak it all in. From there we went to the White House Visitor Center which had a few items to look at. Mr. Gorney had the opportunity to see the Presidential motorcade.
We hopped on the bus and headed to the Botanical Gardens which were incredible. There are different habitats to experience such as a jungle, Hawaii, medicinal plants, orchids, etc. Great picture opportunities here. After that, we walked to the National Mall to enjoy the Smithsonian Museums. The students chose a group and chaperone and had the chance to really explore a selection of museums. Overwhelming favorites were the Natural History Museum, American History Museum and Air and Space Museum. We spent 5 hours on the 'Mall.'
Our driver picked us up and took us to Madame Taussad's wax museum. The kids absolutely loved this! Lots of 'famous people' were there and the kids took lots of pictures. We had about an hour to shop with street vendors and shops before going to the Hard Rock Cafe. The restaurant gave everyone an opportunity to really kick back and talk about day. From there we came back to the motel. A good day was had by all.
